Our Next Concert

Young Soloists' Concert, Emmanuel Church, Wylde Green, 4th March 2023, 7.30pm
Picture
Conductor: Bob Vivian
Leader: Jeremy Blunt

The aim of this concert is to give local youngsters an opportunity to perform as soloist with the accompaniment of a live orchestra. RSCO first put on a Young Soloists’ Concert in February 1998 and it has been an annual event ever since, interrupted only by the Covid-19 lockdown. It has become one of RSCO’s most popular and significant events. For many of the young performers this has been their first experience of playing in public with an orchestra, and several of the past participants have gone on to pursue a career as a professional musician.
The concert programme is as follows:-
Mozart – Overture – Lucia Silla
Albinoni- Oboe Concerto – 2nd M/t. Soloist: Izzy Smith
Bruch – Romance for Viola. Soloist: Toby Dudley
Mozart – Clarinet Concerto - 1st M/t. Soloist: Szymon Arciszewski
Haydn – Trumpet Concerto - M/ts 2 & 3. Soloist: Finn Garside
Mendelssohn– Overture Ruy Blas
Addinsell – Warsaw Piano Concerto - Soloist: Kevin Ge
Bruch– Violin Concerto – 3rd M/t. Soloist: Sophie Jobanputra
